For Danielle Wren, the vision for a community begins long before the first home takes shape. It starts with the land, the story behind it, and the everyday experiences that could make people feel at home.

As President of Golden Lake Development, Wren has spent years shaping a philosophy that connects the work of land development with something deeply personal: a belief that where people live should create more opportunities to enjoy nature, spend time together, and feel a sense of belonging.

At Bridle & Pine in Ocala, that philosophy is taking shape.

The community represents an early expression of the signature experience Wren envisions across Golden Lake’s future communities—each with its own identity, connected by a shared commitment to nature and meaningful community life.

At the heart of the Bridle & Pine concept is a proposed half-acre, spring-inspired lagoon. Wren envisions clear turquoise water framed by a sandy shoreline and lush landscaping, drawing inspiration from Florida’s freshwater springs.

Its scale is intentional. At approximately half an acre, the lagoon is envisioned as an intimate gathering place connected to the surrounding neighborhood. It would bring the feeling of a waterside escape into residents’ daily lives, creating opportunities to unwind, gather, and spend more time outdoors.

The broader amenity vision extends beyond the shoreline. An open-air pavilion, outdoor kitchen, dining and lounge areas, firepit, compact indoor support space, and outdoor fitness areas are contemplated as complementary pieces of the experience.

Together, they would make room for an afternoon by the water to become dinner with neighbors, or a morning workout to become a familiar daily ritual.

Those ordinary moments are central to Wren’s approach. Her vision begins with how a community could feel to the people who live there, then works toward the planning and physical spaces that make those experiences possible.

For Golden Lake, that connection between imagination and execution is fundamental. A community takes shape first as an idea—an understanding of the land and the life it could support—and then through the sustained work of bringing it into the world.

As a female developer and business owner, Wren brings a personal perspective to that process. Her love of the outdoors and her background as an equestrian inform the environments she wants to help create: places with a distinct identity and a connection to their surroundings.

At Bridle & Pine, that identity begins with Ocala itself.

The community’s name reflects the area’s equestrian heritage and natural landscape. The entrance concept carries that influence through limestone, bronze lettering, dark timber fencing, and a subtle equestrian emblem. The intended effect is warm and grounded, establishing a sense of arrival that belongs in horse country.

Located in northwest Ocala near the World Equestrian Center, Bridle & Pine is being shaped within the context of the area’s Northwest Gateway Community Overlay and growing residential demand. For Wren, that setting makes thoughtful planning especially meaningful. New neighborhoods have an opportunity to contribute to the area’s next chapter while remaining connected to the character that draws people there.

Her approach also recognizes the people whose histories are tied to the land. Respect for legacy landowners and the stories behind their properties is part of Golden Lake’s broader philosophy of creating places with lasting meaning.

The lagoon and surrounding amenities remain in planning, with final design and delivery subject to the development process. Yet the vision guiding that work is clear: a neighborhood where nature, wellness, and gathering spaces are woven into everyday life.

For Wren, Bridle & Pine is the opening chapter of a larger ambition for Golden Lake Development—to bring nature-inspired living to life through communities that give people a place to connect, a reason to step outside, and a lasting sense of home.
